I can't see the hidden image
Hold the phone about 30cm away and relax your eyes as if you are looking at something far behind the screen. The static will drift, then snap into shape. If that does not work, bring the phone right up to your nose so the image is a blur, then slowly move it away without refocusing. The trainer in Settings has a red/cyan assist that shows the exact eye position you need. About one in twenty people cannot see autostereograms at all; the Reveal button always works.
What makes a message readable?
Short and bold. Stareo sizes your words to the pattern and shows a meter as you type: "Easy to read" means the letters are large compared with the repeat, "Small" means they'll take a steady eye, and "Too long" means a word can't fit at a readable size. Up to three lines and 32 characters; capitals, digits and simple punctuation survive, accents and emoji don't.
The message is hard to make out
Open Adjust and lower the Pattern size (fewer, wider repeats), or shorten the message so the letters get bigger. Block style is the most legible; Narrow fits long words.
Is anything uploaded?
None of your content. Layout, rendering and decoding all run on your device, and no message or stereogram is ever sent anywhere. The app does send anonymous usage statistics and crash reports, which you can switch off under Settings → Share anonymous usage data.
How do I restore my purchase?
Open Settings inside the app and tap Restore Purchases. Purchases restore on any device signed into the same Apple Account, and are shareable with your family through Family Sharing.
Can I print one?
Exports are sized for screens today. Larger, print-ready renders are on the roadmap: the app already keeps your depth map separately from the pixels for exactly that reason.
